Default Metal Gears

Who sells the metal gears the cheapest? Can you get a set of the three gears? Do they come in a kit front and rear? Who sells the right bearings?
Matt

I called DTX last week and asked about the bearings not fitting right they said that the bearing issue had been fixed so thats where I bought mine As far as the gears go they are also on DTX web site and as far as I know they are the only ones selling metal gears for the C.C. and the are sold by the each not by the pair or a full set so you have to buy 2 of every gear to be able to do both axles

The ones I got from tower were all duratrax parts with the duratrax label.

The closest hobby store to me has the same prices as tower does but is an hour away. If it wasn't so far it's always better to support your local hobby shop.

Fogot to order the bearings when I ordered the metal gears--

DONT FORGET LIKE I DID-ORDER THE METAL OUT OUTPUT JOINT ALSO

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXVFJ1&P=Z

The plastic output joints broke right away with the banebot motors! Ya I get to pull apart both axles again!

has anybody blown a diff gear? my daughter was playing with my CC and ran into something, then the front diff started popping. it still turns the tires, but i can stall the front wheels real easily. what's the weak link here? i don't really have the cash to drop on all metal gears. can i do metal gears and skip the roller bearings?

Yes you can install the metal gears without the bearings. I think the noise your hearing is the output joint poping. Make sure you grease the bushings and gears. The bearings make it much smoother. Matt

well turns out the center idler gear had a tooth broke off. that and for some reason one of the cross pins in a drive axle walked out and wore a hole in the output joint.

This is why I installed a piece of paper in the outer joint. It pushes the cross pin into the drive axle.
