|  ~TSS~ Cliff Climber Comp Rig
well i plan on doing allitle experiment to see if the CC is a viable means for a full on 2.2 comp crawler. Chassis: TSS CCX Wheels: Mayhem Axial "7"s Tires: Hammers for now, something taller later. Servo: 946R Motors: undecided Esc: Rooster Crawler Dig: HS-55 w/ switch Shocks: stock for now, possibly losi .6's later. Battery: unsure, depends on motors, probly a single 2/3A 6 cell pack. well i started with the CCX chassis, made custom links 1/2" longer than stock. i removed the axle skids, and shaved the front axle.  i removed the rear servo, and using parts from a TLT kit, locked out the rear. i used the two molded servo mount posts, i scored the plastic and put JB weld around the base to strengthen it. may do something else here. seems really strong, but i want to be sure it wont let me down, if i go cartwheeling down a cliff. WOW, you are going all out, making a propose built truck and covering all the bases and willing to experiment with different setups. Cool! Im gonna watch this thread for updates. I made mine into a scaler, screw the stupid ass rules about no MOA scalers, my club calls the shots, not the self appointed rule makers. My son has one as well and we have been torn on which way to go with it. Scale its a great setup, but as a stock crawler, its sucks. So I hope your trial and error shows that this truck has some potential. Good on ya! |

I am interested in what you go with for motors, I am hoping something else comes along for choices. Seems like duratrax needs to step up and come out with an alternative motor that works and fits without modifing. I would also like to turn mine into a comp rig. I think it is getting better since I stretched the frame. Now I have to decide on what to do next. Good luck with your project and keep us up to date. I really like your frame design. I was bummbd when I saw it on your post, I got mine from the shop the next day.

Looking good ! Great Idea on the chassis. Cant wait to get mine ! I want to know how this rig performs with some 1,9er FlatIrons and some weight in the wheels. I have also no idea on the motors that I want to use. I am keeping an eye on your choice there :-P Pete |

been looking at everything from 280 45T, 400 long cans, to 380 with gear reductions, to the 454s. those 454 are just so expensive, and too powerful for this little guy. plus theres no room with the shocks and links in the way, but ive already had some parts machined to cure that problem ;) that route will be a last effort though. |

Cory, Honestly I ditch the rooster. You limited by the battery only be able to run a 2s lipo. I would get fxr,mamba max,sidewinder. All those can handle the motors. Plus you can run a 3s lipo, I think you like the lipo better then the NIMH. For motors, I look at these. lol thanks eric, but i just bought a rooster just for this rig. on 6 cells the 454s are already distroying the gears in the CC. 11.1v would just be instant death. and this is kinda for audreys dad, and he doenst need the headache of lipos. he struggles enough with how to charge and care for ni-mhs. and there pretty bullet proof lol. ill look into that motor, but not sure a 12T on 7.2v will have enough grunt. keep the suggestions coming though. thanks man ;) if yoiu look in the CCX thread there are some belly shots with the stock 4.25" tires. |

He had to turn down the power on his radio, to keep his rig from breaking things and it will do wheelies. If you pick up his rig and tried to turn the wheels by hand, you swear feel like you break the lockers first,but then wheels finally turn over. Is there any room to for a split pack ? | |

Tried running the stock motors with the rooster crawler yet? If so how did it crawl? The 454s are out of stock so I may be stuck with the stock ones for now and was wondering. |

no i havent yet, i have a hunch on 6 cells there gonna be SLOW and way underpowered to even get over a rock. kinda like the single battery mod on the stock esc.

well my mayhems showed up. "7"s with max offset, brought my track width to 10.25" im not kidding when i say i think the wheels DOUBLED the total weight of the truck. now if i can just find the right motors. and i really want to try taller tires these are much shorter than i thought:-( but a 1/2" taller than stock    here you can see where i shaved the front axle. really helped   |

yeah ive been sold out for awhile. still have my origonal though. i never have, i bought some $6 motors someone on here suggested and never went any further. |
