I charge all my 2/3a cells as well as my AA cells at 1.5 amp's.

Initial charge at 1/10C for 10-14 hours. Then charge them at 1C.

Okay, there 2/3 cells at 1500mah. I'm not a noobie but i am not as well versed as most of you guys so what is a "C". Charging a pack for 10 to 12 hours sounds deadly! Am I going to have to buy a new charger for these things? Just using a delta peak from Dynamite right now. Suggestions? Don't want to spend to much.

the "c" just stands for capacity. Chargeing at c/10 for 10 hrs is 100% , but add the 5 hrs for 150% because the rate is so slow and will ensure all cells are full, formed, and balanced.

if you're charging with delta peak, it won't matter how long you charge them. it'll stop when they're full automatically. if you're charging with a true delta peak, though, be aware that it could false peak...which isn't a bad thing. just start the charge cycle again.

Tricke them on the first charge till warm 10 - 15 hrs, after that 1amp at the most. Those little guys can vent on you if you charge then with to many amps.

Let me get this straight. A 1500mah battery should charge at a max of what? 1.5 amps? or is that 15 amps? If you say "trickle" charge what is the amp rate for that? .15 amps? Just getting into these "higher" tech battery's. I'm still use to just running the truck till it wont go no more then plopping then on the quick charger, hit the button, wait till done and run some more! I know that this so "noob" that most are going to laugh but I'm honest that is all the patience I have but If I have to change then I will have to learn.

you got it - your 1500mah batteries would charge at 1.5 amps, which is 1C. i charged my IB4200's at 4.5 amps. most chargers will trickle charge after delta peak cuts the cycle off, to keep packs topped off... it was meant more for ni-cd than ni-mh. otherwise, i'm not sure if your charger even has the capability, but most chargers won't charge below 1 amp...but i believe trickle charging is .25 to .5C.

one thing to note about ni-mh: stop running your truck as soon as you see the performance decrease. if you run the truck until it won't move anymore, you'll severely shorten the packs life. that was a common thing to do for ni-cd, but will kill ni-mh. it's also not good to let the pack sit for a long period of time without periodically refilling them (meaning a year or more). the more advanced, higher performace ni-mh packs will self-discharge VERY fast. before i went exclusively with a123 packs, i had to recharge my IB4200's weekly... they would lose about 1000mah on their own... in 1 week!

i accidentally charge my 7 cell saddle pack for my ax10 at 3 amps (default on the super brain 959). How much damage if any did this cause and can I reverse it by cycling the batteries a few times at the proper amperage?

It might not have done any. It's my understanding that they can be charged at 2C safely.
