Default heat sink/novak xd

i am running a 45t Integy motot and i was wondering if i could run the novak super duty with out the heat sinks on it with out doing any damage cause i cant stand the purple and it never gets any hotter then warm

They put them on there for a reason, but you could probably get away with it if you are geared high enough. I dont recommend it though.

I run most of my esc's in a balloon(with their heatsinks) and dont have any problems. The balloon pretty much cancels out the heatsinks ability to get cool air over the fins, but the HS does still pull some heat away from the fets

since the rated forward current on that esc is 400a, and it's very unlikely that you'll ever see output that high you might get away with it. but removing a functional part like a heatsink from the transistors that drive the motor just because you don't like purple is a bad idea. if you overheat them they don't just misbehave... the transistors will probably shatter. speed control will be junk.
take it from somebody that's blown up plenty of parts by misuse...

yeah i know what you mean i also wanted to do it for clearance reasons
i wondered how esc faired in the ballons i wanted to do mine but i didnt want to kill it instantly

im actually thinking about going brushless
whats a good cheap (oxymoron) setup
