Default Smokin' motor

I've got a 55t Integy with a CC Sidewinder in my Axial 2.2. I've just upgraded to 3s lipo (11+ volts) from a nasty old nicad stick pack, and what a difference! Anyhow, when a wheel gets bound up and I stand on it to see if I can loosen it up, my motor begins to smoke after a second or two. I'm assuming the high amp draw is overpowering the contact between the brushes and the comm. Am I right? Is this normal? Anything I can do about it other than lighten up the trigger finger?

Pinning your throttle for 1-3 seconds is not the way to get unstuck. Pulsing the throttle can work but if the truck is just bound up and you cannot get the wheels to turn trying to power through it is not the answer.

You can try a higher torque motor but you'll most likely just end up breaking other stuff.

Smoke coming from the motor is definatly bad. If your stuck, your stuck...no sense bashing your way out. Once you let all of the smoke out of the motor you can never get it back in again
