Dang, I didn't know they were that inexpensive. Do the rocker switches return to center by themselves? Like, would you have to hold the switch to keep the dig on or can you just press it down and it stay down?

You press the rocker once, and the servo moves and stays; press the rocker again in the same direction, the servo returns to center. This works great for a 4WD/freewheel/dig setup.

That's how it works in the "3ST" setup. If you do proportional "PR" it will take a step and stay until you tell it to keep going or to go back.

Wow that may be a perfect replacement for my Nomadio crap. Sucks that it isn't 2.4ghz though.

Jason, the other thing you might miss (besides 2.4GHz) is the lack of channel mixing.

When it says 7 channel in truck mode. Are all 7 channels a 3 position switch? Man this opens up all kinds of things to do to the scaler now!!! I might have to get one of these, How much is that Novak rx?

Ch 3-4-5 are rockers and can be proportional, 3p or flash. Ch 6 is a thumbwheel and I think it can also be pr-3p-fl. Ch 7 is a 2p switch.

Locked up that is a really nice write up and simply explained for those of us that are RX/TX illiderate. Simple functions.. Just wish I new about it before I dropped $120 on my JR (which I like).

I'm going to read over the manual and may have some questions for you or some things for you to try out. LOL

Just looking at the hobby horse site and the Multiplex Profi 301 looks like a good option for those that only need 3 channels for only $35 (tx only).
I think for a decent inexpensive route you could also pick up a PICO reciever ($20.99-$27.99 up to 6 channels) and keep it under a hundred buck easily. Just don't know if the Multiplex is positive or neg shift but I think you said it somewhere?

SWEET Like Double J said, thanks for the write up for us that are let's say "Not like other kids " like myself. :-P I hate not having the 2.4g like Jason said, but might have to give one a try.

just looked again and hobby horse has a 301 w/ pico rx for $55.. not bad at all. It'd be better than the tq3 id assume for only a few more bucks.

The TX is positive shift. The Novak RX goes both ways though. (that sounds bad)

I looked at the pico RXs as well but I decided I wanted the full 7 ch because I'm a greedy 'tard

I have had my Profi 403 for several months now.....I love it. It can be a pain to find compatible receivers and crystals for it to work with, but I found the spot to get em now. I am running for 2.2 comp rig and my 1.9 scaler (using 5 channels on it). When I ordered mine, I could have gotten a Syth module/receiver for it for $20 buck more, but I didn't. Only paid $120 for it....TX, RX, and Crystal

Just to enlighten the rest of us, what RX/crystals are you running and where did you get them?

Good write up. I've been looking for a good pistol grip radio. I'm gonna check them out.

The TX has a synth. module, so a TX crystal isn't required.
