Default Servos. I know, another servo thread.

OK guys I have read just about every servo thread up until 2005. Problem is, most of them are talking about servos that ARE out now but werent out then, so now people know about them.

So anyways, I want a kick ass servo for the front of my AX10 to replace my 645MG.

Here are the ones I know of that would be good. Let me know what you would choose

JR 8711
JR 8611A
JR Z9000T
JR Z9100T
HS-5955TG
HS-5998TG (read it heats up from being too high geared?)

Thats all im really coming up with. IM thinking about running the CC BEC with the servo, so I get full power. Either way, I was reading that the 8611A has all metal and then one knylon gear, where as the z9000T has all metal.

I want over 250oz of torque, I feel as though the JR's have a LOT more number wise, but are they going to kill my run times?

5955 or 5995. Proven to be real preformers.

Hobbico CS-170

How about that? Seems nice with 250oz at 4.8, and 333 at 6.0V

I figured run that with a CC BEC, so that and the HS225MG I will have both have sufficient power.

the cs 170 is just a copy of the hitec's. get a jr, for the price you are getting alot more torque, the 9100t would be my first choice for an ax 10, 370oz/in of torque is awsome, but the 8711's 403 oz/in of torque is even better, but then you have to start looking at upgrading other things like steering knuckles, since that servo has more than enough power to snap em!

Wow, It is a copy. Both have the same specs. The Hobbico is about 25 cheaper, is it as reliable as the hitec?

This is very true...

I own a 9100t and It is BAD AS$! Althought I havn't abused it for very long it seems to be very nice quaility and for the high torque rating it's with the fastest servos available... It event sounds cool...

nice.. I got RC4WD TLT widen adapter and that really took toll on my axial tubar with RC4WD wheel with weight on wheel. 146oz didn't do much justice. without that works fine for so.. ready get some crazy torque.

I too have not had good luck with Hitec's. I went to a JR DS8711 with a Castle BEC about 6 months ago and LOVE it!! All kinds of power for a 2.2 and it has been very reliable. Another thing about JR servos, although I haven't had to use it yet, is they have a 3 yr warranty!

So you all would rather use JR than Hitec?

I've read that the Hitec 5955 is a nice unit, thats why I figured I should get that.. The JR's are starting to get a little pricey...

Been looking at the HSR-5995TG, Looks pretty sick to me. AT 7.4V its 417OZ, which beats out the JR. However, I orderd a CC BEC last night, and will be running around 5.5V ish, around there. SO the servo shouldnt be working too hard at all, but still providing me with a TON of torque.

Remember, I have a 645MG, on 4.8V so im like at 107oz.. So this should be quite the upgrade!

They come stock preset at 5.1V, so thats OK. Thing is my Dig servo only can go to 6.0V, so I figure if I set it a little below 6, I should be good!

UNLESS there is a way to only power the 5995 with the 7.4?

touch on choice..

5955
http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...odID=HRC35955S
or

JR DS8711 ... go with warranty or not...
http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...rodId=JRPS8711

I guess I should scratch Z9100T.. I made mistake on model.

what would be pro/con on 6V at 403oz (jr) or 7.2 at 416oz (hitec)
