Default Quick Futaba 3PM Question.

Do the Futaba 3PM and 3PM 2.4ghz both have the 3rd channel 3 position available for 4ws? I've searched with not luck distinguishing the two. THanks.

The 3PM does not have a 3 position switch. If you program the radio like it says to in the thread yotachump linked you to, it works great for 4ws, but it's not a great radio for dig. I've set mine up for dig with the thumb button to switch between 4wd and rear axle locked, and have to use one of the thumb trim switches to adjust it to freewheel. Now I just need to build a dig...

Is there a way to install a 3 position switch on the 3PM because in the Tech section they installed one on a different radio. Im just curious.

My first thought would be no. The reason you can install a 3 position switch in a TQ3 radio is that everything is analog. The 3pM is digital so there are some big differences in the way it handles stuff. Especially since the switches are assignable, that tells me that the switch is telling the computer in the radio where its at, and the computer decides based on software settings what to do.......

That said, im far from a radio expert, so im not saying that its impossible. Jest that I dont think it is and why...
