| 2 position 1 way servo, or modified servo?
Does that even make sense? What I'm looking for is a servo that will only turn one direction, but will have two end points. For example, using a 3 way momentary toggle... Position 1 - servo arm moves to the left a 1/4 inch Center - neutral Position 2 - servo arm moves to the left a 1/2 inch Or can a standard servo be modified to do this, say by splicing 2 of the 3 wires together. I'm here at work dreaming up crazy ideas so I can't test/burn up a servo here....yet Last edited by TxCruzr; 04-16-2008 at 11:14 PM. |

do you want the servo to return to center, or stay at the off center point and go on to the next point?

im using a modded tq3 to do that exact thing. i wired it up with 2 push buttons that are both connecter to the grey and black wires. then inline with each black wire i wired in a 5k potentiometer and use those to set epoints for each push button. no modding of servo neccesarry

Doing this is usually accomplished by adjusting the endpoints on the radio. If you can modify the servo to do it, I can't think of how.

So what you are saying is, you did the tq3 EPA mod but instead of using the black wire for one switch and the white wire for one switch, you just used the black wire for both switches? I didn't even think of that and I've just got done adding EPA's to two TQ3's. Thank makes it so much easier, thanks

Right. I just got done adding endpoints to the tq3 and can set it so the servo moves barely a hair but I needed it to move negative hairs to the other side of center E-Hills was somehow able to understand my brain fart though, sounds like that will work.

I need the servo to just throw in one direction, but one throw needs to be further than the other. I could use a non momentary 3 way toggle and set it up so that the right position would be the neutral point and so when it centers, that would technically be the first position and the left would be the second position in the same direction. Only reason I don't want to do that is because I don't want the servo to be getting juice 90% of the time, and I am currently using 2 momentary push buttons that allow for a quick response.

thats exactly the reason i set up my tq3 that way. i figured i am in 4wd most of the time so why should the servo have to be working to keep it there
