Default How to fix my broken antena?

Something terrible just happen:-(

My antena cable has just been cut by accident! The radio system is 27MHz.

3 cm still are connected to the reciver. Is it ok to just strip both ends and reconnect them with a metal sleeve?

OriginalEuipmentManufacturers always recommend not to cut an antena cable, but this just happen by accident.

Thanks for your help

You colud try connecting it that way, but you might loose a little range. If you have some soldering skills, I would suggest going to the hobby store and purchasing a new antenna wire the same length as the original wire (if its longer, cut to the correct length) and attach it to the same spot as the current wire.

I'd replace it. Your LHS should be able to do it for a nominal fee if you don't feel comfortable soldering. If you splice it you also run the risk of increased glitching.

Use a very small tip on a very hot iron. Works great.
