Default Ax10 servo

I got a ax10 rtr and i was noticing yesterday when you put it in a bind the servo kinda looses its power. What would be a good servo to up grade to?

How much do you want to spend?

The Hitec 645mg is on the lower end of torque at 133oz/inch, but also the most inexpensive (around $40 new).

If your wallet doesn't have limits, then you have some options. JR makes some nice high torque servos like the 9000t and I can't remember the other number (I think 8751?). Hitec has the 5990, 5955, and 5995.
All of the above are over 300oz/inch of torque @ 6volts. They are all over $100 a piece and they can suck up a good bit of power.

You may also want to consider the Hobbico CS170. Its the same servo as the Hitec 5955TG but doesn't have the programability (never known a crawler who uses that feature). Tower Hobbies also has the same servo as the TS-170. Its still spend and probably overkill, but I noticed a big jump in performance. Depending on your ESC, you may also want to get an external BEC, which may make this somewhat un-affordable for you. I'll second the suggestion of the Hitec 645MG as a cheap option. They're good, just not as powerful.

Hey but how much can the RTR AX10 ESC handle anyway?Wouldn't a nice $100 or over servo just put too much strain on that stock ESC?
I have some RTR AX10 questions like the one above ...
generally How good is that ESC ?

A BEC is a handy little device that allows you to power the radio and servo independently of the power output from the BEC. Most ESCs only provide a few amps, which is fine if you're using wimpy servos, but won't cut it in a crawler. My Hobbico CS170 can pull down 5-7 amps when maxed out. Castle Creations makes a really nice BEC that you can get for $20-25. The BEC takes the ESC completely out of the equation, and allows you to run whatever you want. It also provides a little more voltage to the servo, allowing you to get a little more power. See my other post for thoughts on a good servo.

A link would be awesome, given that I have no idea what you are talking about, and their website does not have a search function.

Tia.
