Thumbs down TowerPro 945 and 995 servo problems

I purchased a TowerPro 945 and a 995 servo a month ago or so. The 945 for my 2.2 comp tuber and the 995 for my 1.9 scaler. I know these are cheaper servos, but as of now both of my are completly trashed out. I got 2 battery packs on the 945 and 3 packs on the 995. Junk servos, don't waste your money. Gears just spin inside case and grind when it turns. I have 2 JR servos and have never had an issue.
Just wondering if any one else is haveing problems with the TowerPro servos?

Yea, samething happened to me. 995 worked for about a month and then died. Quicker then your's, but I upgraded to a hs-645 without any problems. I just had one die on me and its been over a year.

I run my 946r on 7 volts with no issues. My crawler gets jumped regularly too... which isn't easy on a servo.

I have a towerpro in my gwagon and I've been bashing it pretty good for the last 6 months without issue. I have the hs-645 in my rover and that is also reliable.

My 945's have searved me well. I have had a few fail, but for the money, they are a good servo.

I'm guessing that your servos are suffering from problems with the top case. I ran my TP945s (front and rear) for a number of months before they started to get sloppy and began to bind. Then I looked at the mounting hole in the top case and came up with this repair:

New Life for Towerpro Servos?

My TPs are running as smooth (if not smoother than) the day I bought them.

I just received two new 945s in the mail today for a total of 26.00 shipping included. As long as I can fix them, I'll keep running these cheap and strong servos.

Just my experience.

I played the 945/995 servo game, it was not worth it. Both of mine failed in a couple of packs. I now use hitec 5955 servos on all my rigs, even my scaler. I dont have alot of $$$ i just work more hours to afford the good stuff Havent had a servo failure since, going on 2 years now.

Huh, Thats funny.. I have run the 995s, and 945s, and am currently running the 946, And my wife runs the 995 and my son runs the 945 all on 8 cell 2/3a packs and mine on a 2c lipo and have never ever experienced a failure in over a year of competing and testing.. I have more failure out of my hitech 645s...

I have a few of the TP servos and have only had 1 failure.
I run them on my scalers for steering and winches.
