60 watts treats me good for building batteries and using 12 guage wire on everything dont forget to clean your tip! it will get black and crusty! |

30W for smaller gauges, say 14 and higher. 60W for lower than that.

I use a 230 watt gun for batteries. Fast heat and quick. 30/15 watt for wires and connections. |

i use at least a 40 watt but all 40 watts arnt the same. i had one from radio shack what was a POS and i got another one company name starts with a W n e ways it owns the crap out of the raido shack one

My weller 40 watt works pretty good.I use a base that you can coose on how hot the tip gets..Just replace the tip every once in a while,and you'll be fine
