Question AX10 motor?? and motor turns speed vs torque

I'm looking at getting the Ax10, and i'm wondering what motor would be suitable? i want one that i can crawl rocks and oither things but also have some good wheel speed as well.

with the number of turns on a motor, how does it relate to speed/torque?

thanks

so will it have the torque/controll to crawl, and wheel speed?

thanks, Ross

pullers are from holems in the vender area but that is the badest of the badest and if you get in a bind you will brake somthing for sure. i use a integy lathe motor 55 turn cost 20 bucks and pleanty of power wish i had a little more wheel spee so i would say go with like a 45 or 35 turn and you will be set..

THis may help convey differences in winding vs speed.

Just something I came across. Good chart.

If you want good crawling and speed range too, a 35 to 25t motor would be a good choice IMO. 35t would be a good compromise that can compete on 3s lipo still, but gearing up will get more wheelspeed. 25t would compete on 2s lipo, but on 3s with taller gearing (and maybe some timing advance) you could get more speed than the average crawler can take.

I wont be running lipo's, I'll be using 6cell stick pack NiCad's (7.2v) as thats what i have for my tamiya mini.

If i have the 35t, can i then gear it up if need be, at the cost of some torque?

in the UK you should look for some LRP waterproof ones. Or you could score a sidewinder and put it in some tupperware.

yeah, that one would work. MTroniks is the brand I was actually thinking of, but LRP was stuck in my head. Thanks Trigr.

which model of the Mtronics esc?? there are loads of different ones. I want full power forwards & reverse, some sort of brake (so it doesnt roll away down hills), and waterproof.

No clue on my part, I haven't used an Mtroniks in a long time. I don't think any of the brushed ones have drag brakes.
