Default I need a new Radio. Whats good for dig or AWS??

I went to te LHS and i was told that the airtronics mx-3s was not able to do either. So, aside from the TQ3, what other radios do you guys run for a dig or AWS? I currently have a basic AM 2 channel radio and am looking to upgrade.

Thanks guys.

You would be better off just looking around and getting your self a Traxxas TQ3 (which is a three channel radio), and doing the quick mod to it. You can find them on about any rc site for sale, or E-Bay. You can always find them on rcuniverse.com for around $30-$40 with the receiver.
I see these radios at all the comps that I have been to, and everyone loves them. They are also very comfortable radio in your hand. To find the mod for the radio, go to the search bar above and put in TQ3 mod.

Are you sure thats from the radio and not the antenna touching something it shouldn't?

Here is my radio and I freaking LOVE IT:

I run dig and a suspension winch and still have plenty of open channels if I ever get into scalers....

JR R1. you can grab one off Ebay for 60 to 80 bucks sometimes. It will do anything you need to do.

I picked up a futaba 3PM for my WK and it works really sweet for 4WS after you take the 30 min or so to program it... But if you are going to run a dig eventually I wouldn't recommend it. The switch is only a 2 position, so its kind of a pain to get into the neutral spot on the dig.

If you're looking to upgrade, I would go with Spektrum. No glitching, no channel conflicts, and end point adjustments, which are very important if you plan to run digital servos, or dig. Plus you can program several models (depending on which Spektrum you get).
The TQ3 would be about my last choice.

2.4ghz is my choice too...

had react and is the best hands down I've tried can custom make it do whatever you want on your computer or on the radio.

looking to try the dx3r next to see if the react is still tops but already know it wont do more, just want to try it out, plus

i saw it on ebay going for under 200 new now. Definately your choice if you want a real upgrade but dont want to spend over 200 and for that amount you get something thats as good as anything out there in terms of features.

anything I hold feels comfortable to me so cant add anything there...

Dont mean to hijack the thread but you were using a React to operate a DIG unit? I have a React and I have a crawler in the mail with a DIG I was wondering if I would have problems using my nomadio

How about Airtronics 3FHSS 2.4?Has anyone tried this on there crawler?Or Airtronics ER VR/VB high torque servos?Thinking of giving this a shot,a bit cheaper ($180.00)than Dx3r.
