Default Castle BEC with Tekin FXR..problem

Hi all. i have been reading these threads for the past few weeks.. My rig is running a 3cell lipo, integy55 turn, Tekin Fxr, Spectrum sr3000, Hitec 645mg... I received my Castle Bec unit yesterday and installed it as followed... soldered the two loose wires off the Bec to the battery wires coming from the ESC per the instructions.. then plugged the BEC into the "batt" port on my rx. then removed the red wire that runs from the esc into the Rx. when i power everything on the steering works, but im getting no response from the ESC.. no lights, nothing.. Im assuming this is because I removed the red wire... ???? Any help would be appreciated.. Thanks..

Just to check the simple stuff...............you did turn the ESC on correct? Just have to check because now the steering is getting juice from the BEC, not the ESC, so it is easy to think everything is on because the steering works, but in reality it isn't.

guys in our club found you had to set the ESC up first then remove the red wire and hook the CC Bec up.
