| sidewinder issues!
setup: ax10 90/12 gearing sidewinder crawlmaster 3014 1000kv cc bec flightpower 3s 20c 1345mah lipo futaba 3pks/fasst 2.4 i cant get this combo to be as smooth as some other guys around me with similar setups. startup is kinda funny. if i try to be extremely light with the throttle, the motor will start and then restart and then restart.....! also, when i try to climb a wall the motor does the same thing, kinda like pulsing and making high pitched noise. i have tried all settings with the castlelink and i have messed around with the radio for a total of around 4 hours with no luck! please help! |

I think most sensorless outrunners suffer from a non smooth start up, i know all of mine have some cogging, some more than others, it depends on gearing, rig weight and voltage, only sensored bl and brushed motors have nice controlled roll off start ups IMHO.

yeah, i know what you mean about the cogging. this isn't cogging. i have had many brushlees setups and none had this problem.

just out of curiosity, is your speed control setup in brushless mode?

You know I'm having the same problem! I have the same exact set up on an ax10 tranny minus the radio........ I believe that it is just the brushless motor set up.... the speed control doesn't have very many steps at very small trigger movement, at least thats my theory. Unless there is a sensitivity adjustment on the radio itself that we are missing.....I figure that these speed controls were designed for continuously fast movement with bl motors. But that doesn't make them bad escs.
