| Mamba & CC BEC
Right now I have my rig set up with a Mamba Max and also a CC BEC. I don't mind the steering power with the way it is setup, but have never changed the CC BEC to a higher output. Would I see a huge improvement in buying the castle link and bumping the BEC up to 6 volts or should I just take the CC BEC off and sell it since the Mamba puts out the same 5.1 volts as the stock CC BEC?

Yes you will see a HUGE difference. also, the MM may put out 5.1 volts like the ccbec, but the bec puts out 10 amps, whereas I believe the mamba puts out somewhere around 1.5. I single High torque servo can draw more than 3 amps.

- Yes, 6 volts will produce a noticeable difference. I would buy the link and change the voltage. The issue is not so much the voltage as it is the amperage. The mamba max BEC has low amperage. It might be 5 volts, but the amperage is only 1.5amps (or something similar) where the BEC is 10 amps. 6 volts at 10 amps will give the servo a noticeable boost in performance. |

The LHS wanted to charge me $30 to change the volts on this thing ...might as well buy the castle link for that! | |

| $30 is ridiculous. Definitely buy you own link. Either that, or see if a local club or forum member near you has one and can do it for free. If you were local member in my area, I would program it for you.
