Default Futaba Steering Centering Spring

Anybody had to replace a steering centering spring on a Futaba 2PL? I dropped it about 8" the other day and the steering centering spring let go. It was probably on it's last leg anyway but the drop finished it. I took the entire radio apart but could not get the steering assembly out of the case. There were no more screws to remove and the steering wheel was off. As far as I could tell the assembly should have popped out at that point but it something was still holding it. I didn't want to break anything so I bagged it for now. Any thoughts (other than smashing it with a 5 lb. sledge....)?

I haven't had any trouble with mine, or any signs of it breaking.

You might want to try and send a E-mail to Futaba.

Talked to my LHS today and all they could recommend was sending it back to them for repair..... New one would cost me less for sure. Oh well. I'll probably give repairing on my own another shot.
