Default tekin fxr

why does everyone love the tekin fxr compared to the sidewinder it is preatty much the same. you have to buy the hotwire for the fxr and you have to buy the c link for the sidewinder. so why do alot of people use the fxr?

Because the FX-R drag brake actually works, and works incredibly well, the hotwire you don't have to buy if you don't want to but its worth it. And its about 1/3 of the size and weight. When space is at premium, that makes a lot of difference. You can fit a FX-R, micro receiver, and BEC in about the same space as a Sidewinder.

I don't remember the default settings, sorry, but if the FXR doesn't come out of the box with drag brake ON, you can change it with a couple button pushes. You don't need a HotWire to set it (which is good, because I am having a heck of a time getting the HotWire to work with my stupid 64bit Vista machine...), just the buttons on the top of the ESC.

It does not come set with any drag but 4 pushes of buttons and it should be about perfect on drag. You have to set it up with the buttons, but that's no different than 90% of the esc's out there.

Buy the Tekin FX-R and find out why ..You wont be disappointed... I love my FX-R (with CC Bec).

Default FXR and BEC

If you plan on using 3s lipo it will also need a BEC. All three of mine do not work with a 3s and a high torque servo. Once the BEC is installed, it works perfect. The internal bec is not up to par. at 3 amps

Damn, did you not read any of the posts. It was stated that you don't need the hotwire to use the drag brake.

What happened that it didn't work? I'm using a 3S lipo and Hitec digital 5625 and don't seem to have any problems unless you mean that the ESC cuts out when the wheels get stuck and can't move.

after switching too brushless for a short bit and having incredible drag brake, I went back to brushed because I liked the smoothness, but none of my castle ESC's could give my rig great drag brake.
I switched to a FXR and all I can say is WOW!
the drag brake is phenomenal and I only have mine set at 4 out of 10.

just buy it.
you won't regret it, and you don't need the hotwire! it's just an additional cool option.

The higher the voltage the lower your actual bec will be, I don't know why I just know that is the way it is. If you throw on a CC BEC you won't have it cut out anymore.

Pick up a CC BEC , well worth the $20 bucks. The 3 amp internal bec is not up to the task. A 3s lipo and a 5955TG are overkill on any internal bec.
