| LIPO - Help
Alright, I'm entering the world of lipo, I recently made a small purchase through Hobby City. I ordered this charger. http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...ll_w/_Balancer And this battery http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=4906 I didn't realize that the charger charged at 1.3 amp and the battery I got is 860mah, will it be ok to charge this battery at 1.3 amp? If I had a charger with a selectable charge rate, the proper amp to charge it at would be closer to .7-.8 amps, correct? I'm not worried about life span, all I need it to do is make it through 3 courses at this weekends comp. But I am worried about it swelling or catching fire. I have read the Max Amps lipo care page, and I didn't see any info on this? I have also searched and didn't seem to find anything. Thank you, Shaun |

"The maximum recommended charge rate for Lithium Polymer cells is 1C (ex: 1.5A for a 1500mAh pack). Please do not charge your lithium polymer at any rate higher than 1C." "Be absolutely sure that the Lithium Polymer charger settings are correct for the battery pack being charged – both voltage and current settings." I would cancel the order, and get some real equipment. I know nothing of the charger, but a no-name 860MAH 12C pack isn't going to do you well in a comp situation. | |

call them and see if you can change to this lipo http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...5C_Lipoly_Pack its a 1350mah so it well be able to charge at the 1.3amps or you can sell or returne the charger and get a different one. like this one http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/158371.asp its a little bit more money but its able to charge up to like 3 amps. hope this helps |

Thank you very much guys, I appreciate and value all of your opinions. The order has been shipped and I just don't have the time to do anything, I'm stuck with what I ordered for now. I'm tied up the whole week and have absolutely no time to do anything. My main question is, if I charge the lipo I got with the charger I got, will it catch fire or blow up? I don't care if it kills the life span of the battery, its just a $10 lipo to get me through the comp on Saturday. |

i would not trust it. but if you are going to try it put it in a flower pot or a lipo bag just in case.

I'm starting to feel really stupid now. I took a look at the charger and guess what I could have gotten for $10 more? http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...rger_1-5_Cells My order should ship tomorrow, I sent an email and I plan to call them in the morning, hopefully we can work something out, especially since I even had to pay $25 for the fast shipping. I really hope that I can get it worked out and end up with that charger, if not, I'll be pretty upset with myself. I got stupid and got in a hurry. |

Hobby City is awesome, the service is outstanding. I had ordered the wrong lipo charger, I found one a couple hours later that I liked more. I e-mailed them, and they went ahead and changed the order and shipped it out the door! They ask that I just pay the difference as soon as I got a chance. Thanks, Shaun |

Fawkers, the warehouse didn't get the modification to the order, they offered me the charger for $36.99 shipped, I'm just worried about it getting here in time now, I'm trying to get them to give me some fast shipping out of the deal. This really sucks. Looks like I might end up running NIMH this comp :( |

| Why can't it be sexy, now that I look at it, it is pretty Fawking sexy I got it all taken care of, they are send me the B5, and it should be here by Friday, I ended up giving them $45, So now I'm getting the 3E(other lipo charger) and the B5(the one with the display) Now I need to sell/trade the 3E. |

I got the IMAX B5 charger in on Friday and used it yesterday at the comp(before it started to rain) I love the power of this 3S LIPO, its awesome. From a dead stop I can pull the rear wheels off the ground(in reverse). The only problem is I killed my front and rear ring & pinion just messing with it on the living room floor. I'll get on with it, the Imax B5 is awesome, it doesn't come with a power supply, but the performance of this little charger is amazing, it has a rock solid feel to it, and is extremely easy to use. |

I do not have a power supply yet, I charge it off of the car battery at comps.
