Default ESC hit a rock

I was running my Berg without a body and rolled it. Not the first time and not the worst one either. My ESC is mounted on top and I think it hit a rock, it won't go forward or backward but still turns the wheels. I was just wondering if it's possible to mess up a speed controller by impacting it on a rock. I don't have an extra one to test and I don't want to buy another if I don't have to. It's a Novak Rooster Crawler if that matters. Thanks for any info.

Check the motor wire solder joints. Make sure to check them at both the motor and ESC ends. We know the battery wire connections are still good as (we think) the steering still works. A cold solder joint is vulnerable to a hit.

And yes it is possible to damage an electronic device if you whack it hard enough. The most obvious failure being a cracked circuit board or solder joint.....

That's good to know, and well worth it for me. I'm not to good with electronics.

I checked it out today and found the problem, one of the posts that the receiver plugs into was broken inside the plug. Just to check, that post can be soldered back on, right?
