| DX3.0 problem
I got a DX3.0 radio, but I'm having one problem with it. When I reverse, it goes from 0 to 1/4 speed. Going forward, I can make it creep very slowly, but not it reverse, it wants to jump to 1/4 speed. I never had this problem with my old radio. My old radio would reverse just as slowly as it would go forward. Anyone have any ideas on why this is happening. I've reset the esc, and the deadband is set at 0. I have a Mamba Max ESC, with a Intergy 45 turn motor. |

Either check the thottle curve on the speed control or check the Exponential on the radio.

May want to recalibrate the radio to the ESC too.

I played with the exponential some today, that didn't fix it either. I tried that already. I also seem to not be getting full left and right steer either. I have the EPAs set at the max. Not sure what's going on. Last edited by Stburr91; 08-13-2008 at 01:09 PM.

I've been messing with it for a while now, and it is clearly starting at 1/3 speed when I reverse. Going forward, I can get it to creep along with the wheels barely moving. It will not go any slower than 1/3 speed in reverse. Even backing off the throttle in reverse, it goes form 1/3 speed to 0. I've moved the exponential up and down, but it does nothing to help. Has anyone seen this problem before? Anyone have any ideas on what I should try next? This truck with all the same electronics worked with a cheap am radio, but this problem started as soon as I put the DX3.0 in. Last edited by Stburr91; 08-13-2008 at 01:09 PM. |

Have you tried setting the end points on the throttle and reverse to max and then recalibrate with the speedo?

I keep playing around with it, and this I what I know so far. When I push the throttle forward to go in reverse, the light on the ESC that indicates you are going in reverse, doesn't turn on until I've pressed the throttle forward a ways, as soon as the reverse light on the ESC comes on, the wheels start spinning at 1/3 speed. When I press the throttle to the rear to go forward, the light on the ESC lights up immediately, even before the wheels start moving. Forward works just fine. I raised the throttle trim until it starts in reverse, and when it starts, it's going 1/3 speed. For some reason, the ESC isn't getting a reverse single until the tx is at 1/3 reverse. One would think that indicates a calibration problem, but I've recalibrated the ESC several times. I'm not sure what to try next.

Just for $hit$ & giggles, try reversing the motor wires and reversing the throttle on the radio. Then double check and reset all your expo. and epa. on the radio, then recalibrate.

I am having this same problem. Anyone ever get this worked out? Mine is in a new LNC, stock ESC and stock RX. If I get proportional reverse it is only half speed or so, if I get full reverse speed it is like an on/off switch. Any ideas?

phoned Horizon today. It should have full speed proportional rev. It is now fixed. It needs to have the RX re-programmed as in the instructions in the LNC manual. Simple puish the button process and takes 1 minute to do.
