| Shorter motor wires??
Is it ok to shorten the wires that go from the motor to esc? (i mean cut the ones that are supplied with the esc) I think it shouldn't be a problem but I remember reading something about leaving the minimum length of the motor wires. Can anyone shed any light? |

I cant speak for the brushless crowd since mine are still in shipping but in 1/10 off road racing we used to shorten the leads as much as possible. Even if you never noticed the ever so sleight gains in power its still weight thats not there and cleans up the chassis. Shorten away! |

Some brushless motors you cannot shorten, like my crawlmasters. If the wire is normal flexible stuff you can shorten it as much as you want.

It all depends. On my Tekin RS Pro and Novak GTB you can use any length of wire that will reach the motor from the ESC. It's the sensor wires that you should never shorten. Same goes for LRP Sphere and Speed Passion or any ESC with solder posts. Last edited by AreCee; 08-19-2008 at 05:12 AM. |
