Default DX3R Binding Question

I must be a dumbass...............

My other Spektrum recievers have a bind button. The SR3100 that comes with the DX3R uses a binding plug. How the HELL do you power up the reciever to Bind it when Bind the plug is in the Batt/Bind slot in the receiver??

I cannot see how the first two steps in the process make any sense:

1. With the receiver off, insert the bind plug into the Batt/
Bind port in the receiver.
2. Power the receiver. The amber LED will flash
continuously, indicating that the receiver is in bind
mode.

I just plugged in the ESC to the ESC Slot and turned it on. then you bind it.

OK........
I called cutomer service. Plug the battery/BEC into any OTHER slot besides the bind/batt slot Why don't they mention that in the manual??

I got my baby running. The travels and adjustmets work great. I think this radio is going to work very well

ya their manual sucks it doesn't tell you anything. And you would think they would have it online but they don't. I went through the same problem with mine it took like 2 hours to get it running. I wish i was home earlier to save you the time. But other than that the dx3r is great.

Ya......

In the picture it shows the bind plug in the bind slot. I NEVER even considered plugging the power lead into the other slots Anyway..........After about 15 minutes of setting travel and tweaking my Mamba, I couldn't be happier. I new I wasn't getting full power with my JR-R1 system no matter what I tried. Now I realize I was only getting about 1/3 power!! Now my 45 turn Holmes motor will lift the front wheels on pavement and I get full reverse power as well Other than the initial bind problem, the radio is very easy to figure out and set up.
