I have it geared 84/14, but after today I am going 12 or so. This thing on a 8-Elite is crazy fast!!! Yet I have that gentle touch, lol. You can really do a lot with this motor as it is a beast. Edit: I have a LiPo that JRH recommended for the 7T, but I am a little afraid now that i know what it can do! Last edited by Tanis; 08-24-2008 at 11:42 AM. |

I can't say enough good things about that motor. I built a comp rig and I'm thinking about changing the chassis just so I can run a puller motor in it. I have four crawlers, and I have three cobalt motors and two Holmes Hobbies 35 turn handwound motors. John Robert Holmes makes incredible motors, and it's the only thing I run, in my beater crawlers and my comp rigs. I run a 7 turn puller with a mamba max ESC and 11.1 volt LiPo battery, and I run 10-12 tooth pinions in it for my test rig. The motor has enough torque and is so smooth that you can basically gear it for the wheelspeed that you want, and the it will crawl great wherever you gear it. I like to volt up and gear down with these motors to get the smoothest startup and low end throttle response. I reccomend running the Axial slipper clutch, especially if you aren't used to running a really powerful motor. It will not decrese performance if you adjust it properly, and it will save you a lot of broken parts. |

Yeah I *think* he's getting ready to have a huge order of them coming in soon, but I don't want to speak out of place. Wait and see what John Robert says, I'm just thinking so because I remember hearing something about it for sure, but I can't tell you positively one way or the other.
