| outrunner motor what KV's are liked ?
Questions I have a BM16 and love it compared to brushed 55 Bm16 1005 Kv. Is there a Description list some where that tells you What Outrunner is and what Inrunner What does a KV mean and what KV does well in a Super with Sub C's 8 cell Thanks Last edited by toy4crawlin; 09-05-2008 at 01:09 PM. |

Outrunners and inrunners are both brushless motors. Outrunners have the outer can fixed on the shaft and they both rotate together. Inrunners are the most commonly used type of bl motors for speed, the can is stable and only the shaft rotates. Outrunners generally provide higher torque figures and are smaller, but have lower Kv figures. The Kv rating is the amount of revolutions per minute generated per volt. I use a 980kv motor at 12 volts, for a theoretical total of 11760rpm. I do not know the Kv rating of the BM16 (I think ~1000kv, but I'm not sure) and I don't run a super, but someone else might be able to help you. |
