Exclamation Programming Spektrum Dx3 With Novak Rooster Crawler?

Hi.Just got a new Novak Rooster Crawler esc for my tuber.Ill be trying to program the esc with the spektrum DX3 radio but I dont know how.Im hesistant since the novak esc manual only says to push the transmitter throttle to full brake(which I dont know what direction) until the green led light blinks. It doesnt mention anything about reverse programming and accessing it on the radio.Anybody had tried it?Thanks

When I set up my DX3 and Novak full brake is also "full reverse". So once you set full throttle then just push the trigger full reverse for the brake setup. Has worked for me on all the programming I have done with three different Novak ESC's and my DX3.

So basically, its just the same set up that I did with my Novak XRS.Full reverse will function as full brake too?I already did the program just seconds ago and it did the same just like you said and set up already complete but when I turn the DX3 transmitter off with the esc on,the motor will keep on running.Do you have that experience too?Did I make the wrong set up?

Not sure on the XRS, but otherwise yes. If I am on throttle and hit brake/reverse, I get brakes to whatever degree I go into the "brake/reverse" range of travel. If I am at neutral and hit reverse, I get reverse to whatever degree I have pushed the trigger. You can program the dead band, drag brake, and brake and reverse proportions also once you have played with the setup.

The motor running after you turn off the DX3 is odd. For starters I always turn off the truck first (RX) and then the DX3 (TX). That being said, the DX3 has a built in fail safe so that if you loose signal or in this case turn off the transmitter first, the truck should return to a neutral setting and steering to straight ahead. Check that your failsafe settings are correct, as they are adjustable (meaning what position you want it to return to if and when the signal is lost). You might have them set out of the neutral range so the failsafe is kicking in and telling it to run rather than stop when it looses signal.

Hope this makes sense and helps.

Ive had my spektrum DX3 for years now and Im using this on my other trucks and cars.Set up my revo with reverse with this and etc.Its really odd coz I know spektrum has a fail safe feature and I know that its not supposed to run when the transmitter is off with the esc still on.I already have adjusted the throttle trim on the DX3 and it helped a little bit but still runs.Do you think the esc has a problem?thanks for the info.

I might have to reread my DX3 manual to make sure, but the only other thing I can think of is when you bind the TX to the RX before you even begin to mess with the ESC you have to have everything where you want it to be at failsafe mode. In other words whatever your throttle and steering are at when you bind them is where they will go at failsafe. You probably already have, but just in case, did you re-bind them and make sure?

I had used this spektrum receiver from my other car but when I took it out to use this on this ESC,I reset it to the original factory setting. Is there a possibility that the esc is deffective?
