| Airplane NIMH packs vs car packs
Is ther ea difference? I found a smoking deal on some airplane packs today, and I want someting to hold me over until my lipo's show up. The add says they are for airplanes. They are some 9.6 packs. Would this work on a regular car, or are they totally different? Thanks DIma |

Batteries are batteries for the most part. The cells are just soldered together in a certain configuration for certain applications (like planes). The plug will most likely need to be replaced with something compatible with your speed control. Hard to say for sure without knowing exactly what the battery is. Also make sure your speed control can handle 9.6V. Off the top of my head, I can tell you that Novak crawlers speedos can only handle up to 8.4V.

I was wondering the same thing myself last night! I have 2 9.6 volt packs sitting around but they are only 900 MaH and I was wondering how that would effect my run times. They are AA cells but are nice and flat. Abd I believe some LRP SC's and the Axial AE-1 can handle 10V.

Not all batteries are created equal. There are low current cells and high current cells. Then you have to factor in the true ratings on the cells. These days only about 10% of the batteries hold up to their ratings. But a hobby cell(Airplanes use hobby cells) generally will handle the current of a crawler. Maybe not as well as others. But to get you by, they should work.. Just make sure your charger will do that many cells and your ESC will too
