| Brushless motor sugestions?
Ok so i picked up my Ax10 kit, tossed in my emaxx electronics: hs-645,traxxas reciever, and my HV-Maxx... only problem is my HV-maxx is soo long, half the motor sticks out past the skid plate and takes a beating! i currently have a cover for it, but it is also getting in the way of the uper link bolt. So if i where to sell my BL motor, and use my HV-Maxx ESC, what is the BEST Brushless motor i could get for this beast? Was looking at the 21.5 turn or 18.5 turn Novak Goat motor. |

Are you planning on competing? If not, an outrunner motor is the best brushless config for crawlers. I run this in my rig and it's a blast!! http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...utrunner_Motor I'm planning on going w/ a larger motor later on. If paired up w/ a great BL ESC, outrunners are quite nice. I have way more torque in my little motor than my buddies' 55t brushed motors. I run it w/ this ESC: http://www.quarkbrushless.com/pro_carcontrol_65a.htm The 33A Car would be a nicely combo. The only reason I went w/ the 65A was because I was thinking of going 4S or 5S lipo... As for a brushless motor, I would pick an outrunner motor over an inrunner motor. |

The best to my knowledge, Novak does not have an outrunner motor. All their brushless motors are inrunner. If I had to pick between 21.5T or 18.5T sensored brushless from Novak, I would pick the 21.5T. The 18.5T had too much wheel speed for my taste. An outrunner will generally have more torque than an inrunner motor of the same size. |
