Default 11.1v LiPo with brushed ESC--new info--in-->

Well, I thought I would take a chance and try something. I figured either way, eventually, I was going to get a new esc, so what would it hurt to try. I took my Thunder Power 11.1v 1320 mah LiPo and and hooked it up on my Axial AX-10's esc, which I borrowed from my old HPI Sprint. It is a Nosram Tomohawk with reverse. It has a great brake on it and works really well in my crawler. I just didn't like the battery configurations I had. So, I had some 11.1v 3s's laying around from my electric planes and thought it couldn't hurt to try it. So I soldered up some deans connectors on my esc, which I was going to do anyway. Next I need to get a 3s low voltage cutoff. I have powered it up and did some crawling with it and all is great. Even though my esc says it is only rated for 8.4v input, it has performed flawlessly so far. Can anyone think of potential problems I might encounter?

The thing that would happen is the battery may get run down past the 9.0 v's & go bad,puff up & catch on fire & burn the whole thing to the ground, the speedo may overheat & the magic smoke may be released. Other than that not a lot.

The battery will not catch fire if it goes below 9v, but it will damage it and make further charging risky.

I think Novak makes an external voltage cutoff.

That's why I said I need a low voltage cutoff....

Thanks JR...I look into that.
