I have had very good luck with the ones tagged as Turborix Digi from the RVM Shop. I have paid anywhere between $2.75 and $10.00 a piece for them over the past few years. I run them hot too at 6.0 volts and haven't burnt one out yet. Just be sure to keep your steering EPA's set correctly, or you will toast any servo. http://stores.ebay.com/RVMShop-Store Last edited by themerc64; 10-27-2008 at 09:37 PM. Reason: posted link |

By setting the EPA correctly you mean don't have the steering adjusted to rotate to the max?

No... You want the motor in the servo to stop once it reaches the desired travel. That is what the EPA aka end point adjustment is for. If your radio does not have EPA's you could mess with the linkage and or servo horn to limit the travel, but the servo is still at risk.

it's your money so it really your chose. i got a set and i have killed both. the first was run a about 5 volts and it lasted 6 months before the gears were completely gone. you could move the tires about a 3/8" back and forth without moving the gears. now the second went out in four hard gtg with it set to 6 volts. so i would stay away if it was me. but that is my thought.

You want the servo travel to end before it touches the steering stops. You don't want the servo pushing needlessly hard on the stops.

Thanks guys for all your help. I think i'm going to get one that themerc64 recommended. If it fails well then i'm only out $10. It shouldn't be worked too hard powering the mini crawler.

I have used such servos on my MGT for well over a year and i drive alot in wet places aswell as snow. Also use those in my crawler and never had any issues. Only place i wouldnt use those servos are to the throttle/brake on ur nitro.

I will order a pair of these and let you know how they work out. I would be nice to know though how much torque they had, not what the specs are but how they are in real life in a crawler. |

I've been running two of these hard over the last year or so and they have never let me down. From what I've read though it can be a bit hit and miss on getting a good one.
