Default is my servo fried?

whenever I drive forward or backwards my dig servo (hitec 225mg) will twitch. it works fine with no twitching while shifting into 2wd and lock.

is it bad? or could this be caused by something else...

The DX3R has a framerate setting, and that setting can cause that. But I don't remember if the DX3 has that option. I don't think it does. What steering servo you running? I noticed on mine, running the JR 8711 steering servo with a Hitech dig servo, I'd get a little twitch out of the Hitech. I switched the dig over to a JR and the twitch went away!

8711 for steering. did you go fullsize or stick with a mini?

this problem didnt rise until i put my dig back together. i didnt do anything but reset my endpoints.

Saturday morning I went to the LHS in a hurry (I had some crawlers on the way to my house for a GTG) and stupidly grabbed a retract JR servo instead of the 126mg that was right next to it. I get home and I'm just testing out a cheap servo to make sure my RX isn't messed up, and my BEC goes up in smoke. Later that day I got back to my LHS and get a BEC and to swap servos, and when I get home and hook up my new JR to center it, the servo just went in one direction until it went no more. LOL

oh, what a day.

Before frying it completly you should really look into a nice beer batter.

We had some issues this weekend with Tommy R's JR servo not getting along with his hitec 225 dig servo while using a DX3R. The JR servo and hitec servo themselves would work OK alone but together they went nuts. We played around with the framerates and it got a little better but still glitched.

After a little while we noticed his JR servo seemed to be hunting for center and when we put a hobbico in there it was fine, but then we noticed his dig servo was straining hard. I've had similar issues on mine with my DX3R. the little dig servo will shift fine in one direction but even a brand new one (unloaded) seems to stutter on it's way back. it's weird and it makes me want to try a fullsize servo or different radio.

I had a similar problem that took me forever to figure out - tried everything with no luck - I finally took some compressed air and blew out the motor - that fixed it - because of the brush dust, etc in the motor it was creating static that effected the servo (receiver)
