I like Quark 33A Car or their Pro65A brushless ESC.

Both are very nice and works well in my crawler. Let me know how that motor runs for you!! I'm interested in another outrunner from Hobbycity as well.

I think 770kV is a bit slow...but you'll find out if it fits you

On 3S, it'll handle it just fine.

Default Thanks

Thanks .

Since KV is only 770, is there a pinion which could compensate for some low speed ? I mean could I use a larger pinion which would give me slight more increase in speed.

For the price of the Quark 30A I would get a Sidewinder CC which is about the same price and is brushed/brushless switchable etc.
Or a cheaper and very nice option would be the EzRun 35A from Ebay

By the way does the KD 36-12XL need a brushless motor adapter plate?

(seems large enough not to but better make sure for future reference)

Default yes

It does need adaptor plate. Holes are a little off compared to brushed.
