| wiring a lathe motor
I am new to this and just got my integy 55t lathe motor and noticed it has what appears to be 4 places for wire connections. What is the correct way to wire it? I am running an evx with one battery on a modded e-maxx. thanks |

1 lead to the + side and one to the - .... the top of the end bell right next to the bearing says what side is what there should be a little + sign for the positive side.

| One side is positive, and the other is negative. Look for the (+) or (-) stamped on the endbell. |

Remeber that if you are running a clod one of the motors will be wired with the positive off the speed controll to the negative on the motor. Otherwise you won't be going anywhere fast.

or you can wire it normal and reverse the end bell.

OK. I seen the positive symbol. The other 2 spades that have the screws thru them are of no concern then?

Is there a need to run caps on the lathe motors or is interference not an issue?

Here you go. The blue wire is connected to the negative and the yellow to the positive. |

I know, I put more into it then it really is, but this is the first motor I've had with an endbell that looks like the pic you showed. Guess I don't want to fry anything. And thanks for the info and pics.

To continue this in a little more detail...can I use the two smaller leftover terminals to solder the caps to...versus soldering them to the can itself?

I have a question. I wired m lathes like the pics above shows, but my motors wouldn't work. The ESC would make a noise, got really really hot but nothing happened. Do I need to installed resistors capacitors on the lathe motors? If so, can someone please post a close up pic? This is my first electric R/C and I'm a little lost. I'm using to Integy lathes, a Rebel 2, and all this is in an NN chassis. Thanks |

sounds like you have shorted your esc. Make sure that you are wiring to the positive and negative sides of the motor and not just to one side. redbull- yes you can use the little tabs instead of soldering to the can Urbanace's pics are pretty up close and clean. |
