| What servo for an R2D II?
Just ordered up the new R2D II from RC4WD. Just wondering what servo I should get to operate the dig? Will a 645mg be sufficient?

That will work fine but in would put in the highest torque servo you can afford. Mechanical digs need high torque to work effectively in a bind situation. | |

A 645mg should be more than enough. I was running a 33 oz. servo for my R2D. And the only time I had an issue was, if I was in front wheel/rear locked and dragging the rear down a slope. I could not get it to unlock till I got to the bottom. |

When I had a R2D I used a 645mg and it worked perfectly.

645 should work fine. With the new dig sleeves the R2D II shift so much smoother.

Ace does make a great servo but way pricey for what you need. I'm not a fan of hitecs at all. But a Hitec 645 will be all you need. You don't even need to go to the 5645. You could probably even get away with a 625. |
