I don't see why it wouldn't work. There's no stress on them, and those things will handle the 1/18 scale buggies and trucks.

If I remember right, isn't the 85 a little stronger than the 81, but still the same size? I have a buddy that ran one on an R2D, with no problems, other than not enough power!

I actually had a spare Futaba 9650 sitting around. I still have one more and a slightly better quality JR servo still kicking around. These are servo's for 1/12 scale onroad cars. Way overkill. But for the purpose of clicking a micro switch, any thing will do.

Pretty much any servo will work. For me it is depends if it will fit on the chassis to get the best lowest CG as possible.

Yeah, I was really tired last night......I was actually meaning to ask who is using these in a Zero chassis with the dig plate. Mine should be here tomorrow or Monday so I guess I will find out then. |

The cut out in the dig tray is .492x.958 I run a Hitec 65hb servo that measures .450x.940 and still have to clearance the round corners of the tray and the holes on the servo to bolt it in. so I would say the servos you listed are not going to be a drop in and go setup. Jeff designed the tray around the servos that come with the DX-6 radio which are pretty small. |
