Question ESC questions

i have an e-maxx with all aluminum a-arms, spools f/r, gd-600, 55t lathe motor and stock receiver.
i have a super rooster esc and when i drive about 10 or so feet away from me it starts glitching like crazy, i was wondering if anyone knows why it might do this???

also i was trying out that trick were u short out one side of the stock EVX ESC. if i plug only the battery in and not the connector that shorts it only the front steering works, then when i plug the connector that shorts it, it does nothing???

if anyone could help me with either of my questions that would b awsome!!!!

thats because the bec is on only one plug.what you do is connect the battery on the plug that operates the servo, then cross the other plug to itself.if you do a search on mod evx you will come up with a post with exact info on doing this

as for the glitch, that can be a # of things that cause this.first i'll ask-did your truck ever run with out the glitch with this trx & rx in it?keep your rx and it's ant away from any thing metal-alum-cf,and away from any wiring.make sure it's as high as posible.you don't want it below any of the above i mentioned.have new or fully charged battery's in the trx.make sure the rx ant is the orig length.is the motor new?if so,was it broken in?motor also needs 3 caps for each motor(if running 2)some people don't but they are not having a problem, you are so you may need to try them.

I'll try and put a link straight to the write up by twisted creations. www.rccrawler.com/evx.htm
This write up is easy to follow and it works great. I use an evx in my clod and have no issues at all.

westsidcrawler02, there's no need to ask the same question in 2 different forums.

It's pretty simple, plug the battery in, on light come on (correct location for battery cross the other two) if the light doesn't come on, try the other connection.

Default Another question

I read the write up about the EVX controller but what it did not mention is abou tthe stock TXT-1 motors. The write-up mentions removing one motor because of the 14-v requirement but the stock TXT uses 2 motors and one pack. Do I still have to remove one motor? Can I use the EVX with the mod done? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yes like solder the pos. and neg. wires together. The write up shows using an old battery hook-up, which is a great idea for warranty, but I just soldered mine together.

What the write-up means is that if you do this mod. it changes the output voltage from 14v to 7v so if you are using stock motors that require 14v they will only run at half speed. Change the motors to 7v motors and get full speed and better runtimes. With a 3000 battery, my evx and dual 55 turns on my clod I get about 1 hour to 1hour and 15min. of runtime, easy.

If your ESC or motor doesn't come with caps, then you can buy some at Radio Shack.

Here's a link to installing caps

im not sure if like a lhs like hobbie people sells them but if they did they would probably charge you like 5 bucks for three... but u could go to radio shack and grab some of these

http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...5Fid=272%2D109

ORRR if you have like an old radioshack rc car or just an rc car motor with caps on them you could rob it off of them...
