| had the comm cut..?
I ordered some 35t integies from HH and i chose the option to have the comm cut. Visibly, i cannot see any changes on the comm, maybe i'm looking at the wrong place or something. What exactly does cutting the comm do? Do i still have to break in the brushes? this is on my 14.4v 1:6 JK and it gets some pretty good speed. It's no slow crawler, but can be. should i still break the motors in? water? I read that water is the thing of the past. That's what i used to do. |

I would run it with the trim up half way for a couple minutes in the truck. If you use water, it will strip the brushes of their lube. So if you do use water, just remember to change the brushes for new ones after.

Right basicly the surface of the commutator is cut precisely. Allows for better contact and smoother operation.

Next time i'm gonna invest into some seriously good motors. The integies are alright and get the job done but they wear out faster than i like. I'm on my 3rd set in about a year so far. I run it hard though, at full speed, jumping and all that stuff. Mud and water too. Last edited by muddeprived; 12-10-2008 at 03:28 AM. | |
