the screen your coming across is probably a warning saying the software isnt signed by microsoft. and about 40% of the software isnt. so i wouldnt worry about it. just hit "run anyway".

microsoft .net framework is the inner workings of .NET ALOT of programs use it.
its made by MS kinda like a language, Coders use it as a base for makeing parts of some software.....

and i beleive that CC link does use it.

(someone else can explaine it better then that im sure but you get the idea.)

dont worry about it. like i said.

one other thing i noticed was when i saved my sidewinder settings to my CPU....then tried to open it to see what was saved and got a warning that if i open this file it could damage my CPU....so i just deleted the saved file, what's going on with trying to save settings and getting that message....or should i just use the print screen button.............bob

well why dont you give me the exact message and ill tell you for sure what it means. most likely its just a warning saying that the program(.exe) isnt signed or verified software. so ms puts in a auto message to warn you, which is good for malicious software but CC is "trusted" software. so i woudlnt worry about it again. just hit run anyway.

okay. so thats the problem. with castle link you dont save the settings to a file as far as i know(and i have/use it all the time). the settings are saved on the ESC/BEC its self to check if your settings were saved run the castle link program again with the ESC/BEC plugged in and it will read settings from the ESC.

maybe im confused here why were you trying to open a .dat file?

like the error says .DAT files are system files.

The .dat files are saved settings. I have about 10 of them, and you have to open them through the CC program. Open CC link program, file, open.

.dat file for a stampede
.dat file for a brushed crawler
.dat file for a cobalt puller
.dat file for brushess & lipo scaler
etc.

in the CC link program i clicked on file then download settings, a window came up to where i wanted it saved....i saved it....when i went to open it to see if it saved my settings as i set them i got that warning....all i did now was a print screen to save what i set the ESC at....i wasn't trying to save or open a DAT file just what i programed my sidewinder so i had a record of it for any changes later down the road...........bob

framework.net is a network/computer path routing device/software most newer computers already have updated.

just go to www.microsoft.com and search netframework. i think 2.2 is what i have on mine, but there may be a newer version by now.
