Default Multiplex Profi Car 403 problems HELP!!!

As stated I have a MPC403 and I love it , it has the 75.45MHZ crystal # 63 , and I would like to put another reciever in another car , BUT , I have tried 2 diffrent ones and cant get them to talk to each other. One is a GWS micro reciever I got off e-bay , the other is a Hitec with a Futaba crystal.
Help , I'm fresh out of ideas.

Thanks
Dwane

My guess is that you'll have to use Multiplex receivers. I don't think the radio is compatible with other receivers.

Wrong. I am running one right now with a 5 channel Novak synthesized rec. and a GWS 6 channel rec. The rec.'s need to be positive shift or either auto-shift.

Are you sure the GWS rec. is positive shift? You can get them either way. A positive shift GWS receiver will definately work with that radio. I have been running one for a while. I have a spare one here I could send you if you run out of options. JR receivers are also positive shift. I have used those reliably as well. All the Novak stuff I have used worked as well since they were auto-shift.

The Futaba/Hitec hybrid you have there will definately not work. Futaba and Hitec are both negative shift while Multiplex stuff is positive shift. Not going to happen.

The moral of the story...............................Positive Shift

Yes, I'm also running a couple of GWS receivers with mine. On one of them (I think it was an 8 channel) I had to open it up and flip a switch to set it to positive shift.

Double check the pos/neg shift. GWS rxs should work.

I ran Novak XXtras (synthesized) with my 403s. They worked well and proved to be quite durable.

Ok , I looked at the reciever and it dosent say + or - on it. I looked back at the ebay listing and it has a
" choice of: -shift for Futaba-Hitec
or +shift for JR-Airtronics-Multiplex

I would think i would have told them for the Multiplex , but mabey they sent me the wrong one.
Are there any diffrence in the housing or markings on the reciever for - + . This one has a 75 MHZ Band sticker , a F sticker , on one side and the normal markings on the other.

I would bet that the "F" means Futaba which would be negative shift. My 5 channel GWS receiver has a "J" sticker on it (probably for JR) which would be positive shift.

Yep, you have the wrong one. It should have a "J" on the back.
