Default sidewinder problems

please help

just recently purchased a castle sidewinder from ckrc no port for usb,
i solderd deans plugs to it, did a nice job. Also got a traxxas 3 ch receiver and traxxas mod tq3 from xtreme hobby, also picked up crystals(cc motor 7700) saddle pac 7.2 from tcs.
know my last crawler i had was equeped with a mamba max so i know how to arm it. But when i follow the sidewinder booklet i get nothing, not even a peep or a red light ? i've tried every combo, what am i missing here

help if u can guys

The sidewinder does not come with a usb port. you have to buy the castle link to program it on your PC. Also I dont think that the sidewinder is capable of handling the 7700kv motor. That motor is really fast (4.5T equivilant i think) for anything crawling. Had the 6900kv motor for my 10th scale 4wd elec and it was to much motor. I would look into a different motor to see if that is the problem on why it wont arm itself.

no the castle link is a separate cable you have to purchase. it is different from the cable from the mmax. It might be a failsafe built into the spdo.

You should get a light. Is the power switch turned on?

Check your plugs / wire for continuity
make sure the battery is charged
turn the power on

Otherwise the internal BEC could be dead.

Thats all I can think of, if the lights aren't coming on the sidewinder. The 7700 will smoke it btw, it is only rated for the 5400 on 2s.

doubtful. on reciever or radio problem. if spdo isnt getting a signal yell light would keep flashing (i think yel) I would get a castle link to make sure the programming in the spdo is correct then if that still doesnt change anything I would try a different motor. I just looked at castlecreations website and the 6900 and the 7700 dont seem to be supported for the sidewinder
