Default ax10 stock esc VS novak explorer

I have a RTR ax10 and find the stock esc is very hard to drive slow in forward. In reverse it is slow enough though. I also have a older novak explorer sport. Would the novak be a better choice?

if I am not mistaken the explorer is a forward only esc. I would not recomend using that on your crawler. I would just use the rtr esc till you can afford to buy an esc that has a drag break.

if your gonna spend that much you would be better with the Tekin FXR. Another alternative would be a Castle Creations Sidewinder.
