Default FXR pro ESC Connector ?

I am putting in a FXR Pro ESC into my brothers berg. He has got a Spectrum 3100 receiver. The plug that goes to the receiver as a tab that sticks out to the side preventing it to plug into the receiver. People that have used this ESC, did you cut the tab off or did you replace the connector on the ESC or did you run into this problem?

Thanks for the help.

I have done both and had the same results. Each way worked, but changing the conector to match looked the best and never worked loose.
