Default caps needed on a 35t Torque Master?

I got one of the last 35t Torque Masters from Holmes Hobbies. I'm finally at the point where the new crawler is going together. I started to bench test the drivetrain, which included plugging in a batt pack to the Rx and running the motor. When I run full throttle, then let go of the throttle (letting it go to neutral) I get a blue spark from the brush area of the motor.

I don't have any caps on the motor, so I'm wondering if I should install them, and if this could be causing the sparks?
I don't have any experience with these motors, so I'm asking everyone for help.

Thanks!

On one side of the end between the leads there is a little green circut board with two caps on it. The blue spark is just the motor breaking in. runn it for a while and it should smooth out.

Mine didn't come with the built in caps. I have only had it for about 4 months. Has there been any changes?

I have 2 of his motors that I have purchased a few months ago & they came w/o caps also. I think that with the scarcity of motors these days some will and others won't have them. I'm happy that I have them regardless. Yeah, that first big blue flash got my attention.

I thought just the Integy V11 motors had the circuit board ! I never seen a Holmes motor come out like that.

the motor just needs to be broke-in.

The Holmes Torquemasters should all have capacitors built into the endbell.

I've never had a V11, and on the web pic, it's on the other side.

The circuit board is just to the right of the red aluminum heatsink post.

not true. I bought a 35t torquemaster and a 7t puller at the same time and the torque master di not have the caps and the puller did not have the yellow Holmes sticker on it. Not that it really matters the puller is great and the 35t is as well. Just saying that not all of them have the caps. He might have had one small batch of endbells without them.

Thanks, that's exactly what the bell end of my motor looks like. So, do I need to solder on some caps?
