Since we are on the subject of power supply for the 606I, is there a way to hook up this charger to a cigaretter lighter? Can I cut off the DC clips and wire up a cig lighter power supply? Any issues with that John? Any recommendations as to which adapter would be up to the task?

My 4Runner has an outlet in the back cargo area and this would be easier than me popping the hood and resting the batteries in the engine bay.

Thanks!

Sorry for the hijack, Long...

Running from a cig lighter would be no problem, you would just need to make an adapter.

What I did on my 0606 was to put banana plugs on the 12v power lead, close to the charger body. When inside you can rip the leads off and have a nice clean charger. When in the field you put them back on for charging. You could make a seperate lead to go in a cig lighter if you wanted.
