I use an JR XS3Pro and it works great, He is right no free wheel though... which is fine because I don't like that feature anyway.

I don't need to freewheel. What do I need to do to the radio or does it work right out of the box?

JR XR3 has a 3 position rocker switch (A) on the grip (The XS3 has a 2 position). Yes you can use it for dig.

Here's a link to the manual. Read pages 14 and 15 for setting up the 3rd channel switch. There are 3 different modes you can select from.

The XR3 has a 3 position 3rd channel. You have to add a stitch to bypass the stock momentary switches. Its a pretty easy mod, I've done it a couple of times.

Hey guys, I just got one of these radios in a trade. I downloaded the manual and have looked at the pages for setting up the 3rd channel for 3 position. I must be an idiot because I still cant figure it out. I have the 3 position toggle mod done and dont know what setting to change the radio to, all I get is a on or off. Any help? thanks guys. Dustin

As for the rest of you. If it doesn't say XR3 on the side of your radio you only have a 2 position 3rd channel. All the other versions are different than the XR3!!!!!!! You guys really need to learn to pay attention.

There is already a write up on how to do it (from 2006)...

DX3 toggle switch installation

Btw, the DX3 in the above thread is identical to the JR XR3 with the exception of the signal it sends.

Also, this is only for the DX3/XR3. Nothing else.

Personally, I liked having stock the momentary rocker switch when I used the XR3. It is easy to access and automatically returns to center.

I am calm bro! Sorry if I came off wrong. I only wrote it so big and bold so everyone would see it well and not look over it without really seeing what the model was. Again sorry if I came off like an AssHat.

No asshat...just seemed streesed..its all good brotha...I know where your coming from...took me a while to realize that they were speaking of a differnent control than mine...took SVEN to point that out...I still think there is a way to get a 2P to 3P...just need to find the neutral somewhere on the board.....but then again...I could be/am wrong
