| Sidewinder: Forward is Reverse
Ok guys, I got a sidewinder hooked to a traxxas TQ3. I thought I had the esc calibrated correctly but now when i try to go forward it goes backwards and vice-versa. I have the positive wire hooked to the positive side of the motor and opposite side for the negative. Do I just need to switch my motor wires around or did i calibrate the esc wrong? Its running a integy 45t if that makes any difference. At first I thought it was the servo reversing on the transmitter, but when i flipped that it ran off the table out of control! Guess thats why they say to remove the pinion gear. |

i would try putting the radio on normal(servo rev) and then try to set it up a gain. remember to pull the trigger back first then push it forward when its time

either works, start by rvsig the throatle channel, if it works directionally correct, but is faster in rsv than in forward, put the rvs back and then swap the hot and cold wires to the motor.

The most important part... The green light on the esc is forward, the orange is neutral, and the red is reverse. If that is correct and it still goes backwards, switch the motor wires. Then just recalibrate the ESC

Does the sidewinder even have a red light on it? Because mine doesn't or its never came on anyways. Do you only hve a certain amount of time to go from full forward to full reverse during calibration? Because im having trouble getting it to calibrate now. Thanks for you help! |

Programming the ESC: 5. Make sure the ESC’s switch is off 6. Plug in a battery 7. Holding full throttle on your transmitter, turn the switch ON A. After a few seconds you’ll hear multiple tones and the red LED will come on B. Now hold full brake and after a few seconds you’ll hear multiple tones and the yellow LED will come on C. Now relax to neutral and after a few seconds you’ll hear multiple tones and ALL the LED’s will light up D. A few seconds later the ESC will arm with a double tone and you’re ready to go! |

I wasnt pulling the throttle and pushing the brake at the right times. I also had to ignore the red light part, my does not have a red light on it at all(????????), yellow and green thats it. Just took it out for a test run and had a set screw fall out of the drive shaft! Guess I need to use more thread lock there!
