Default what will i be happier with 45t 50t or 55t

i want to get a warrior 2 motor. i feel like my novak 55t is wearing out..

i have all stock axial gearing and running a rooster esc

what will i be happier with a 45t 50t or 55t motor.

i would like a little bit more wheel speed but i dont want to lose torque. whats the torque difference between those motor sizes

55 is just not enough for me...and i'm running a 19tooth pinion. still wheelies, but not enought wheel speed...would say go for a 45t motor

I have had the 55 intigy (to slow) and am currently using a 45 intigy with a 16 pinion and stock 87 spur and it is a much better. However, I have seen a few people running the 35 holmes and thats my new direction with lipo.

i run the 45t and came from a 55t. noticed a little in the smoothness on lowend power but the wheel spd was nicer. I also run only a 2cell 7.4 lipo with stock 14/87 gearing. I would go with the 45t

I had a 35t warrior in my old shafty and it was great. I ran 65, 55 and 45t integy lathes in that truck and none of them could touch the torque of the warrior, and the warrior had better drag brake and low speed control. I run 55t integys in my berg now, but torque is far less critical when you have 2 motors, and I'm geared way higher than I had the shafty, so wheelspeed is good. I had 35t's in the berg and it was way too fast.

well if you want the torque, with just changing the motor i use a 75turn with a 10t pinion, god the power is great, except for when you wanna bridge a gap, then you fall short.i now use a 75motor,17pinion,87spur has ok speed but soon to try 45t holmes motor, love the rockracer speed.oh by the way if you go the 75/10/87 route?get mip shafts, just a thought, lol

i think this is starting to be a very informative thread for the people like me that want to get the most axle breaking torque from a brushed motor and simple rooster crawler esc. i know how to put gears in axles and and rebuild transfer cases but dont really understand the rc crawler gearing.

thanks for everyones input. glad i havnt made a purchase yet

I watched Gatekeeper's rig at the Crawling for Kids comp in Georgia do high speed dohnuts, flipping on it's lid doing wheelys in the parking lot and I think he was running a 35 HH handwound on lipo and he still had awsome control and torque he would be a good person to ask. Good luck.

What battery combo do you use? With the Novak Rooster Crawler your limited to 4-7 cell Ni-Cd/Ni-MH batteries or 2 cell Li-Po? I also run the Novak Rooster Crawler esc. Had the Novak 55t motor with 6 cell 1400 mAh battery and it had good torque, but it was lacking wheel speed. I changed the motor to a Integy Matrix Pro Lathe motor 45T with a 7 cell 1500 mAh saddle pack battery. Works great! Has great power and wheel speed to help in those tough areas!

45T + 2S Lipo + 96/15 gears + WK running gear

Its got plenty of jump with still decent low end torque.

I had the rooster crawler pack (rooster esc/novak 55t)...it was good, but did not give me the wheel speed i wanted. I changed the gearing..but didn't like the outcome....so I then changed to Tekin 45t motor and kept the same esc....I feel that gives me what I am looking for!!!

If you really want the most axle snapping torque possible with a rooster, the cobalt puller is the clear choice. More wheelspeed too! I'm not even joking here either, the puller makes even the best handwound motor look like a silver can. I briefly ran a 10t geared 21/87 on 3 cell (with a mamba max) and it had enough torque to snap axles on command, and jump. My local hobby shop has a pulling track and a sled which I think weighs 20 pounds, I loaded that thing up with all the weight I could find (probably another 20 pounds) and pulled it all the way down the track. Some of the actual pulling trucks didn't do that

Default Axle snapping

I run a losi mini crawler esc with the Novak55T and 1400 ma 1/18 scale pack in my wheely king crawler. With a 14t pinon and 96t spur I snap axles regularly(those buggers are expensive)! :?
