Im going to buy a new axial artr tommorow and have been looking at the tekin 55t and the tekin fxr esc. Has anyone heard anything about this setup good or bad? if not good what suggestions does anyone have as far as motor and esc go?

Good ESC......motor is more than likely just an el cheapo machine wound....if you get the handwound version those are much better, but is still a cheap teardown. Seems the popular choice on here is to get a good ESC like the Mamba Max, Sidewinder, or FXR.....and then good a good quality handwound motor.

you might want to look at the 35t or 45t combo as the 55t is very slow. I have the 55t (wanted to save money and everthing else was out of stock) and the only way to get any kind of wheel speed is to use a 3s lipo and gear up.

I have the fxr with the tekin 45t and think it is a great motorand esc. If you are going to run the 3s lipo though you better plan on external bec or it will overheat. I just ordered the fxr with the 55t (45t was out of stock) for my sons, but will probly put a 45t integy in it. The fxr is the way to go though.

The tekin is good because the esc is so small, I run the rooster combo and love it but that opinion is not shared by most crawlers o this sight.45t motor is definatly the way to go thou
